Our pet boarding facility was designed with your pet's comfort, health and safety in mind. Our upscale accommodations are designed to promote serene sleep and sweet dreaming. With each night of boarding, we provide plush beds and unlimited room refreshes. Your dog will be fed as you instruct us, using your own pet food or our supply of premium pet food. Medicine will be administered by our professional veterinary staff. We also provide daily brushing for guests who require it, and a bath for any dogs who need it.

Your dog will have a choice of a small, medium, large, or extra large room, and will receive two to three play times per day, indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). We also offer in-room aromatherapy, Bedtime Bliss Treats, before bed belly rub and bedtime story, and unlimited time in our outdoor play areas (weather permitting).

Cats are also welcome to board at My Pet Lodge. Working with feline specialists, we have devised the ideal environment for our feline guests. Our intimate kitty condos provide plenty of space, privacy, and comfort. Of course, our cat care specialists know just how to give kitty cuddles, which are included with every cat boarding stay.

Your pet's well-being is a top priority at Stamford Veterinary Center. Their health and comfort will constantly be attended to and monitored during your pet's entire stay. We have many experienced pet care professionals as well as veterinarians on premise.

Grooming Services

The Medical Importance of Grooming Your Pet

There's a lot more to pet grooming than making Fluffy look fabulous. The important thing is to keep your dog or cat clean and healthy.

Grooming is an important part of preventive medical care, and regular grooming will help prevent serious medical problems—not to mention make your pet look, smell, and feel better. By having your pet groomed regularly, you can help detect skin infections and growths before they become a problem.

Coat

Dogs require regular bathing to keep their skin and coat healthy, and brushing between baths will get rid of tangles and mats. We recommend brushing your cat weekly to decrease the number of hairballs it ingests. Longhaired and senior cats should be brushed more often to prevent mats from forming. Mats on dogs are painful and can cause skin infections, and matted hair around the hindquarters is especially painful and dangerous. Take a peek at your pet's bottom every now and then to make sure it isn't matted or infected. A foul smell signals trouble. With dogs, scooting is often a sign that there is a problem.

Nails

Stamford Pet GroomingIn general, your dog's nails are too long if you can hear his tap-dancing on your floor. For dogs and cats, long nails can get caught in carpet or cause them to slip. On some pets, nails curve around and grow into the feet, causing pain and infection. Regular trimming is an excellent alternative to declawing — and reupholstering your couch.

Ears

Ear cleaning is important in preventing ear mites and infections, and pets with hairy ears need extra attention. Healthy ears do not have an odor and look clean, and anything different should be examined right away.

Eyes

Keep the hair around your pet's eyes clipped short enough so it can see properly. Long hair that dangles into the eyes can cause irritation or damage the cornea. Also, matter that collects in the corners of eyes should be cleared away regularly (for some pets, daily) so the debris doesn't create sores.
